About

Independent media, built on first-hand reporting.

Enquirer Media is a UK-based publisher and production company covering true crime, organised crime and the social history of modern Britain. We make documentaries, books and long-form digital work that get past the headlines and into the territory itself.

We started on YouTube as Enquirer 2.0, telling the stories that mainstream media often gets at second-hand or skips entirely. The audience came quickly and stayed. Today the channel turns over more than ten million views a month across YouTube and Facebook, and has become one of the most trusted independent voices on Britain's underworld.

That trust comes from how we work. We deal directly with the people closest to the events: those who lived them, those who policed them, and those who reported them at the time. We check what we are told. Where the record disagrees with the story, we say so. Where a question still hangs over a case, we leave it open.

What we cover

Organised crime in Britain from the post-war years to the present. The firms, the families, the rivalries and the truces. The 70s and 80s in London and the regional cities. The 90s rave scene and the doors that controlled it. Trafficking routes, prison politics, informants and the lives that were rebuilt or never recovered. Social history, when it intersects with the story we are telling.

What we are working on

Enquirer Media is developing a slate of long-form projects across documentary and publishing. The first confirmed publishing project is Gangland Rave Wars, a book on the underworld battle for control of the 90s rave scene. Documentary work is also in planning, focused on first-hand accounts, archive material and stories from Britain's criminal and social history that deserve fuller treatment.

How we are funded

The channel is supported by its audience and by advertising on the platform. Books are funded through publishers and direct sales. Films are produced independently or in partnership with broadcasters and distributors. We do not take editorial direction from sponsors.
